Bulk Texter Pro now supports Zoom Phone

Out today in v3.1.2: Zoom Phone. If your organization runs its phones through Zoom, you can now send personalized bulk texts from your existing Zoom Phone number.

Filling a real gap​

Zoom Phone is a solid business phone, and if your company already lives in Zoom it's hard to argue with keeping everything on one platform. But it has no bulk texting at all — not even the basic broadcast some competitors offer. One thread at a time was the only option Zoom gave you.

Bulk Texter Pro fills that gap: write once, personalize from a spreadsheet, send from the number you already have. Each recipient gets a private thread, and replies come back into your normal Zoom Phone conversations.

The one gotcha worth knowing​

Zoom limits outgoing messages to 500 characters by default. Go over and Zoom refuses to send.

This bites more often with mail merge than you'd expect, because your merged message is longer than your template — a 480-character template looks safe until a long name pushes a few recipients over the line. Your Zoom administrator can raise the ceiling to 1,600 characters in account settings, and the preview screen shows you the real length of every message before anything sends.

Zoom's SMS registration is also more involved than most platforms', so confirm you can text from the Zoom web app before you start.
